Christian Mysticism.
In this intercession of Our Lady Christian Mysticism and Mysticism and visionary experience in general are
discussed.
In reading Mysticism written in the last number of decades I have been quite dissapointed. At one stage I wondered
whether the last book of good Mysticism written was St. Faustina's diary. I think this was written in the 1930s, though published
later. I would certainly recommend her book to anyone interested in the subject of Christian Mysticism.
I have since revised
my opinion about more recent Mysticism to the extent that there may have been a few good books of Mysticism written over this period.
And I have not read exhaustively in the subject.
In this intercession Our Lady introduces the idea of rules for mystics and visionaries.
For
example, if we have experience from Heaven, when we relate it or write it down, are we subject to error or attack from the devil.
This could be rule number one. We should do our best and also pray that we relate it accurately and review what we have previously
related from time to time.
Our Lady also says that the truth of the Bible is a vital measure of all Mysticism. This could be
rule number two. There are other rules as well.
Our Lady also relates to us what may be called - As If - Mysticism. This is Mysticism
which may not be literally true, but forms an edifying contemplation and teaches truth in essence. 'As If' Mysticism is referred to
in a specific way as regards the controversial issues in the present intercession, i.e. in the book.
There may be more on the
discipline of Mysticism.
Remember, there is a special intercessionary blessing of Our Lady for anyone who reads carefully
through this entire website.
